Privacy Policy

Alpho is a devotional app. The things you bring to it — what you're struggling with, what you're praying for — are personal, and we treat them that way. This policy explains plainly what we collect, why, and what control you have.

Who we are

Alpho is operated from North Carolina, United States. For any privacy question, email help@alpho.app.

What we collect

We do not collect your contacts, your location, or your device's advertising identifier. Alpho contains no advertising and no third-party ad tracking.

How your writing is used

When you submit a struggle, the text you write is sent to Anthropic, our AI provider, and is used twice — once to sort it into a category, and once to select relevant Scripture and write a prayer and reflection for your situation. The saints' stories themselves come from our own reviewed library, not from the AI.

Your text is used to generate your response and is not used to train AI models, not used to advertise to you, and not sold to anyone.

We also keep a record of submitted struggles — the text, the category it matched, and how confident the match was — so we can improve which topics Alpho covers. That record is deleted along with everything else when you delete your account.

Please don't include information you wouldn't want stored. Alpho is a journal and a devotional, not a secure medical or legal record. Avoid entering payment details, government ID numbers, or another person's private information.

The prayer wall

If you choose to share a prayer with the community, it appears to other users without your name or email attached. Only share what you're comfortable having others read. Anything you write in your private journal stays private to your account.

Where your data lives

Your account and content are stored with Supabase, our database provider, on servers in the United States. Access is restricted per-account by database security rules, so one user cannot read another user's journal.

Payments

Subscriptions are purchased and billed by Apple through your App Store account. We never see or store your card details. We receive only your subscription status — whether it is active, in trial, or expired — through our subscription provider, RevenueCat.

Children

Alpho is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email help@alpho.app and we will delete it.

Your choices

Two things worth knowing before you delete.

Prayers you shared anonymously to the community wall may remain visible, because they carry no link back to you and removing them would alter other people's prayer feeds. Tell us if you want a specific post taken down and we'll remove it.

Deleting your Alpho account does not cancel your subscription. Apple controls billing, so you must also cancel in your device's Settings → your name → Subscriptions.

How long we keep things

We keep your content while your account is open. After deletion, content is removed from our live database, and remaining copies in encrypted backups age out within 30 days.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share only with the service providers that make the app work — Supabase (database), Anthropic (AI processing), RevenueCat and Apple (subscriptions) — and only as needed to provide Alpho, or where the law requires it.

Changes

If we make a material change to this policy, we'll update the date above and notify you in the app. Continuing to use Alpho after a change means you accept the updated policy.
